PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Abstract patient information from medical records.
- Transcribe information received from medical facilities into EMR.
- Correlate ICD–10 codes with transcribed patient diagnoses and procedures.
- Assist in recording new patient paperwork.
- Assist with routing patient charts to the proper location.
- Answer telephones and answer questions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Follow organizational policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
One year related experience in a medical office and/or nursing experience preferred. Basic knowledge of computer software programs, such as Microsoft Word.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Related EMR and/or Coding certifications are encouraged.
