Wiring Technician II Job Description Department:ProductionPosition Reports to:Locations:Production Manager Commerce, California | Brea, California SUMMARY OF POSITIONSoffa Electric is a well-established systems integration firm with over 50 years in the industry. We are seeking the right individual to join our Production team as a Wiring Technician. A Wiring Technician II is a skilled professional responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing complex electrical control panels. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and a safety-conscious mindset. OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLEThe primary objectives of a Wiring Technician II are to assemble, wire, and test electrical control panels according to blueprints and specifications, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry best practices. Typically possessing a higher level of experience compared to a Wiring Technician I, potentially taking on more complex projects and mentoring junior technicians. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESIndependently wire and assemble electrical control panels, including wiring components such as contactors, relays, PLCs, and circuit breakers.Interpret and review electrical schematics, drawings, and specifications to ensure proper installation.Install electrical control panels into enclosures, ensuring proper grounding, insulation, and cable management.Ensure the mandatory use of all required safety equipment before starting work.Work with electrical tools and hand tools.Assist in the preparation and layout of electrical control panels.Cut, strip, and terminate electrical wires according to electrical schematics.Support senior wiremen with panel assembly and wiring tasks.Follow wiring diagrams, manuals, and other specifications to ensure proper setup.Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.Organize and maintain tools, equipment, and materials in the work area.Perform basic tests to verify the functionality of electrical systems in the panels.Consistently observe and incorporate all relevant safety best practices. EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIREDExperience: 2–5 years of experience in electrical control panel assembly, including wiring and installation.Degree: Not RequiredCertification(s): Additional certifications or technical qualifications in electrical engineering or related fields preferred.Abilities: In-depth knowledge of electrical wiring and control systems. Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics. Proficiency with electrical hand tools, multimeters, and testing equipment. Experienced in panel wiring, assembly, and installation. Good communication and team collaboration skills. Must be able to troubleshoot electrical control systems and resolve wiring faults.SPECIAL NOTES ON POSITIONMust be able to sit, stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.SALARY RANGE$24.00 - $28.00/ hr
