SUMMARY OF POSITION
SOFFA Electric, a well-established systems integration firm with over 50 years of experience, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM). The APM will support the planning, coordination, and execution of technology integration projects across various sectors. Reporting to the Director of Project Management the APM helps ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting client and company standards.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Manage T&M projects
- Coordinate project activities to ensure timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Cross-departmental coordination including submittal, RFI, change order, and procurement tracking.
- Coordinate with the scheduling team, providing updates regarding key project deliverables.
- Send monthly RFI and Change Order Reports to Project Managers.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
- Coordinate project closeout documentation.
- Support the PMO team with daily tasks as needed.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
Experience: 3 years as an Assistant Project Manager, preferably in construction
Degree: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or other related discipline preferred; or equivalent
Certification(s): CAPM preferred
ABILITIES
Candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with teams and build working relationships. Exceptional organization skills, communication abilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sage programs are a plus. Strong verbal and written English communication skills are mandatory.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- General working environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is primarily conducted indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Occasional visits to SOFFA manufacturing locations.
- Noise level is typically low to medium in office; it can be loud in manufacturing facilities.
