• All students hired in the summer and fall 2022 are considered seasonal workers and are required to work until October 31, 2022 with the option to apply for year-round employment at that time.

Position Description: The Fall Festival Associate works outside at festival activities and/or inside the market to make sure all products and produce are properly displayed and filled in the market, run the cash register, bag groceries, and provide outstanding customer service.
Employment Type: Part-time, both Saturdays & Sundays 10am-6pm from September 24-October 30, 2016. Orientation Saturday, September 10th, 2016 from 10am-1pm.
Reports to: Adult Manager/Event Manager
Duties:
Setup, run, and cleanup designated station and/or assist with directing traffic/parking vehicles
Stocking produce and other merchandise
Cleaning
Provide excellent customer service and answer customer questions
Take phone calls and in-person requests for donations
Answer all telephone calls
Run the cash register, credit card machine, and bag groceries
Scoop and serve ice cream and run the cash register
Look to the manager on-duty for tasks and comply with requests
Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
Must be at least 14 years old.
Possess excellent customer relations skills at all times: being talkative with the customers, friendly, patient, polite, and smiling. Soergel's is known for their friendly staff!
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Must be dependable, responsible, and confident.
Must be able to use the register and make correct change efficiently.
Educates him/herself about upcoming events and the harvest schedule to answer customer questions.
Must be able to help with other tasks and in other departments when asked.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Staff will be standing on their feet during their entire shift.
Light to moderate lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally heavy lifting up to about 50 pounds (apple bushels).
Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, on delivery days from suppliers.
Light to heavy scooping in the ice cream area as needed.
Noise level may be high at times when we are busy, especially because of children.
Equipment Used:
Shopping carts, umbrellas, general cleaning equipment, cash register, pricing guns, knives, scales, wrapper, bread slicer (18 ), deli meat/cheese slicer (18 ), rolling carts, cardboard crusher, forklifts (18 ), dollies, and pallet jacks. Other equipment may be introduced.
