Location: We are seeking a dedicated Performance Dietitian for The University of Cincinnati Athletics located in Cincinnati, OH.
Principal Function:
The Training Table Dietitian will collaborate with the Performance Executive Chef, General Manager, and the UC Performance Nutrition Team to develop menus and oversee the athletic performance center training table. Responsibilities include menu management and execution, ensuring quality control, and compliance with established standards with Sodexo Live! best practices. The role involves allergen management, menu integration into software, training for student-athletes and staff, food safety management, and nutrition education as appropriate. The dietitian may also support other food operation roles and oversee dietetic interns.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Work with the Executive Performance chef and General Manager, in conjunction with UC Performance Team, to develop menus for the athletic performance center training table
- Oversee quality control of the training table, ensuring accurate menu execution, product and food quality, proper food and allergen labeling, and compliance with mutually agreed-upon standards
- Management of Training Table software and technologies (i.e. TeamWorks Nutrition Kitchen) and integration of all menu items, meal schedules, and allergens
- Work in conjunction with the culinary team to accommodate student-athletes allergies and dietary preferences
- Provide menu selection education to student-athletes, and in-service training to culinary staff on food safety, allergens, and quality service.
- Be present at meal services as necessary to answer questions to food selections, nutrition quality/ingredients, and dietary restrictions and ensure meal accommodations are available for individuals with dietary restrictions
- Facilitate regular feedback on menu changes and services provided on a regular basis in conjunction with the UC Performance Nutrition Team
- Other job responsibilities may involve the development/execution of nutrition education events (cooking demos, theme meals, etc.) and assistance with inventory/ordering for training table selections and/or fueling stations under the direction of the UC performance nutrition team
- Perform related duties based on direction from the UC Performance Nutrition team and General Manager of Sodexo Live!
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field required.
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required; must be in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Licensure in the State of Ohio (or eligibility to obtain within 60 days of hire).
- Minimum 1-year experience in a food service role as a RD/RDN
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Strong interest in food service, inventory management and menu design
- Experience working in an athletics nutrition setting/environment - strongly preferred
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and nutrition tracking software.
Other Requirements:
- Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.
Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
