Buyer - Senior

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Buyer to lead procurement and sourcing initiatives across our supply chain operations. Duties

• Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies aligned with company goals, leveraging ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 for procurement activities.
• Manage end-to-end procurement processes including requisitioning, purchase order creation, supplier negotiations, and contract management to secure the best pricing and terms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams like production planning, merchandising, logistics, and inventory management to forecast needs and ensure seamless supply chain operations.
• Conduct supplier evaluations, monitor performance metrics, and foster strong vendor relationships to maintain high-quality standards and reliable delivery schedules.
• Utilize materials management techniques such as MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to optimize inventory control, reduce excess stock, and support just-in-time purchasing.
• Oversee logistics coordination related to inbound shipments, customs clearance, warehousing, and distribution to ensure efficient delivery timelines.
• Stay current with industry trends in e-commerce, procurement best practices, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations to continuously improve sourcing effectiveness.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist with a focus on senior-level responsibilities within manufacturing or retail environments.
• Extensive knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS or similar platforms used for materials management and procurement processes.
• Strong background in supply chain management including inventory control, logistics coordination, production planning, and merchandising.
• Demonstrated expertise in negotiation tactics for securing favorable contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers.
• Familiarity with procurement regulations, contract law principles related to purchasing agreements, and sourcing strategies across diverse product categories.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data from ERP systems like AS400 or equivalent tools to inform purchasing decisions.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external vendors while maintaining professional relationships that support business objectives.
