What are the responsibilities and job description for the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR position at Sodalis Senior Living Largo?
Position Summary:
Direct community operations in accordance with the policies, procedures, mission, and philosophy of Sodalis Senior Living. Lead and motivate employees in providing quality care. Ensure that services delivered to residents are exceptional. Ensure that operating budgets are achieved to deliver expected shareholder value.
Primary Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Oversee the safety and well-being of the residents in accordance with Sodalis philosophy and standards of care.
Represent the residence in the community, family members, and visitors while developing positive relations with all customers.
Establish and maintain an open-door policy and a high level of ongoing communication with residents and their families.
Contact the resident’s family when a change in services is needed. Lead and participate in a resident/family conference to review changes in services.
Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Continually monitor quality of service for the residents.
General Management:
Adhere to and implement Sodalis resident policies and procedures.
Maintain a high level of occupancy.
Assist in the development of the community’s operating budget.
Operate the community within the budget.
Assist in the marketing of the community including developing relationships with local referral sources.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as directed.
Maintain up-to-date and complete resident files.
Assume on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis and assign on-call.
Make final decision on resident move-ins and move-outs based on the well- being of the resident in accordance with Sodalis policies and procedures.
Hiring, Supervising and Training:
Recruit, hire and supervise all employees, and ensure adequate staffing.
Encourage teamwork, promote Sodalis’s philosophy and provide ongoing coaching to employees.
Motivate employees through recognition programs, training, and teambuilding.
Conduct regular performance appraisals with employees.
Provide an “open door” to employees and address any employee concerns or grievances.
Maintain complete and up-to-date employee files.
Maintain a high level of employee satisfaction.
Ensure appropriate handling of on-the-job injuries as reported by employees.
Oversee and implement the training of all employees in accordance with residence policies.
Ensure proper documentation for all training.
Clinical/Psychological:
Perform an in-depth psychosocial service assessment to determine the needs of the resident and family.
Provide ongoing counseling services to residents and families regarding issues including family communication, coping with stress, role changes, coping with Dementia, and coming to terms with the end of life.
Provide monthly opportunities for family counseling.
Engage the family in problem solving and conflict resolution.
Assist the family in learning new coping strategies.
Maintain knowledge of state regulations, Advance Directives, POA/DPOA issues and other related topics.
Assist with discharge planning or transfer arrangements as needed.
Develop and maintain a list of community resources and advise residents and families of the availability of community services.
Provide referrals to community resources for residents/families.
Create family and resident support groups as appropriate.
Provide community education and training regarding Dementia care.
Provide regular counseling opportunities to staff regarding issues such as: coping with stress, caregiver issues, coming to terms with the end of life and communication.
