Position Summary
The Category Development Analyst will partner with Marketing, Trade Marketing, and Sales to deliver best-in-class analytics and actionable insights across key retailers, including Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, and Kroger. This role supports category assessments, shopper insights, and data-driven recommendations to optimize distribution, assortment, and promotional strategies using syndicated data tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports development of Brand channel strategies, inclusive of portfolio roadmaps, pricing structure and promotional resonance
- Supports development of customer-facing presentations, line reviews, and assortment recommendations
- Conduct market analysis including understanding key category trends, customer and market dynamics and competitive positioning, to unlock additional areas of growth
- Initiate, synthesize, and translate Syndicated Data insights into revenue growth opportunities within Omni-Channel retailers
- Whitespace identification of emerging consumer segments that are engaging with our products and digital vehicle resonance
- Deliver monthly reporting and analysis (Read & React) of business performance with an emphasis on actionable insights that can impact short/long-term strategy
- Partner with Sales Brokers, and Marketing Agencies to enhance promo and marketing program evaluations
Required Education, Skills and Experience
- Experience with Syndication Data Tools Circana (IRI), Nielsen, Numerator, and Retailer Data portals (e.g. Walmart Luminate, Kroger 84.51, CVS Extra Care).
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS), or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in Category Analytics within Consumer Products (CPG/FMGC) industry is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint
