Socomec North America (NAM) is Socomec’s organization overseeing all operations in North America.

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will focus on event coordination - take ownership of planning, coordinating, and executing event-related initiatives. This role will play a key part in managing our Show Van program, overseeing trade show participation, and ensuring successful execution of internal events. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, creative, and skilled at balancing multiple priorities while delivering exceptional event experiences that showcase our brand.

This role will liaise with media professionals, and working closely with sales and marketing people from our North American divisions to help them publicize and sell products and services in the region.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Coordinate the scheduling, logistics, and availability of two Show Van across multiple regions.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to align van usage with strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure the van is consistently stocked with current collateral, product samples, and branded materials.
  • Oversee upkeep, branding, and maintenance needs to keep the van event-ready.
  • Manage event registration, booth reservations, and vendor coordination.
  • Develop and oversee timelines for trade show preparation, including shipment of booth materials and products.
  • Coordinate marketing collateral, promotional giveaways, and branded displays.
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to maximize lead generation and brand visibility.
  • Track attendance, budget, and ROI metrics for post-event reporting.
  • Plan and execute internal meetings, training sessions, and company-wide events.
  • Coordinate event logistics including venue selection, catering, and audiovisual needs.
  • Develop event agendas and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives through creative event experiences.
  • Manage production and distribution of event-related marketing collateral and digital assets.
  • Ensure consistency of branding across all event touchpoints.
  • Support campaign rollouts tied to events, including pre- and post-event communications.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge And Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in event coordination, trade shows, or marketing support.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with event/project management tools.
  • Familiarity with logistics planning / 3rd party management companies (i.e.. Freeman)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across functions.
  • Occasional travel to USA and Canadian locations.
  • Ability to respond to urgent quality-related matters as needed.
