Society of the Transfiguration is a non for-profit organization located in Glendale, OH. Our sole purpose is to serve others within our local community through our ministries. We are actively seeking a RN or LPN who can work PRN From 2:30PM-10:30PM and or 10:30PM - 6:30AM.
Job Summary
The RN/LPN Staff Nurse is a licensed nurse who provides nursing/resident care under the direction of the Director of Nursing to meet standards of professional care as established.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising, and coordinating the medical care and activities performed by Certified Nursing Assistants, Infirmary Assistant, and driver in the absence of or direction from the DON.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible under the direction of the DON for supervision of nurse aides per assigned.
- Assists Sisters with all medical or therapeutic needs per scope of practice.
- Assists in or performs direct nursing care.
- Communicates with outside healthcare providers as needed or directed by DON or physician.
- Networks with other departments to ensure continuity of care.
- Promotes team environment; reports pertinent information at change of shifts.
- Documents on all Infirmary sisters during scheduled shifts.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of healthcare environments. Maintains the standards of nursing practice in the infirmary.
- Demonstrates skills in effective management of nurse aides and delegation of tasks during shifts.
- Assesses the quality of care rendered.
- Prioritize tasks, projects, and demands in a timely manner.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Reports safety concerns as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Licensed Practical Nurse with a current state license.
- At least 1 year experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and moving.
- Maintain proper body mechanics and use assistive equipment as needed (lifts, gait belts).
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times with or without assistance.
- Possible exposure to bodily fluids and infectious.
