Lead Cashier/Retail Associate
The Lead is a full-time position and pays $17.50/hr. during the week and $18.50/hr. on the weekends, weekends are required. Hours for this position is 11am - 7:30pm
The Lead is responsible for overseeing assigned departments, providing assistance to the front end, assisting customers and store associates in a thrift store setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Leading other associates in their designated work area.
- Responsible for the accuracy of cash register entries; no excess overages/shortages. Manage cash, responsible for daily cash reconciliations, and deposits.
- Responsible for ensuring that production is completed properly, that adequate saleable merchandise is placed into the store.
- Understanding and following the donation process.
- Handle minor day-to-day scheduling of team.
- Independently delegate tasks and responsibilities to store associates.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly production area with safety practices enforced.
- Perform store opening closing procedures in the absence of the store manager or assistant manager.
- Responsible for maintaining excellent and courteous relations with customers in the retail store and for providing good customer service when receiving donations.
- Must be able to perform light maintenance (change tape in cash register, etc.)
- 2 years prior management or supervisory experience required
- Ability to communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including phones, registers and PC as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store as required.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds. Associates who work in production/warehouse must have the ability to regularly push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds while working both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Flexibility to adapt and change duties as needed by the store management.
Salary : $18 - $19
