Job Overview - What You Will Do
The SGO currently has an extraordinary opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven communications specialist to join the team as the Marketing & Communications Specialist – Digital Content & Analytics. We are looking for an individual to bring their passion and excitement to our fast-paced and ever-changing environment. The successful incumbent will be adaptable, focused, and collaborative and will embrace change to ensure they meet their goals and the goals of the SGO and FWC.
The Marketing & Communications Specialist – Digital Content & Analytics supports the marketing and communications initiatives of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) and the Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC) through social media management, digital content coordination, and data analysis.
In this role, you will manage daily social media posting and engagement across organizational platforms, assist with content creation and scheduling, and produce regular analytics reports that measure the performance of digital campaigns—including social media, email, website, and media placements. You will also provide operational and analytical support to the Director, Marketing & Communications, and senior managers—translating campaign data into actionable insights and ensuring seamless coordination across platforms, initiatives, and reporting.
As a core member of the Marketing & Communications team, this position collaborates across departments to maintain consistent messaging, strengthen brand presence, and support data-driven strategy execution. Key areas of responsibility include social media management, content creation and coordination, data analytics and reporting, and team support and collaboration.
Requirements for Success
The ideal candidate will have experience and skills as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or communications.
- Experience creating and managing content for social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, YouTube).
- Familiarity with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar).
- Experience with email marketing systems (Higher Logic/Informz, Constant Contact) and basic CMS updates (WordPress preferred).
- Proficiency with analytics and reporting tools (Google Analytics, native social insights, Excel dashboards, etc.).
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and brand consistency.
- Basic design and visual editing skills (Canva or Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus).
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and adapt to evolving priorities.
The work of the SGO is conducted primarily in a remote office environment with occasional requirements to be onsite for group meetings and events. Travel is required approximately 7-10 days per year.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience. The hiring range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 annually. Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, and short- and long-term disability benefits; vacation time, sick time, 11 named holidays and 3 floating holidays, and parental leave.
