Job Summary
Chesterton Academy of Annapolis seeks a talented and dynamic Math & Science teacher to join our faculty starting in the 2026-2027 academic year. Specific course assignments can align with education and experience, but may include Precalculus, Calculus, Biology, and Chemistry.
Responsibilities
This position requires active teaching of at least four courses in math and science (the traditional quadrivium) as part of the Chesterton Schools Network (CSN) curriculum. Active teaching is 18-22 class periods per week, or roughly 13-14 hours, with at least 2 hours a day of prep time. The headmaster will support your growth as a teacher through regular professional development, observation and feedback, and year-round faculty activities. As part of a math and science team, we expect you will bring your expertise and collegial approach to supporting and encouraging colleagues.
Full-time faculty responsibilities also include regular campus duties, such as monitoring lunch, study hall, or substituting for absent teachers: these are times of formation where your presence is formative. Faculty are spiritual leaders, participating in daily Mass and prayer with the entire student body, supporting the House system and activities, and assisting in spiritual retreats. Attending optional school activities, including sporting events, is highly encouraged and strengthens the community.
Qualifications
A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant subject area is required, ideally with teaching experience.
