Schedule & Work Expectations
- Three (3) 12-hour shifts per week:
- 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM.
- Weekend rotation: every 5th weekend
- Holiday rotation: 1 holiday per year
- No nights, no call!
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of emergent conditions, contributing to department efficiency, throughput, and quality outcomes.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop/implement treatment plans for patients across all acuity levels.
- Carry out procedures within scope (e.g., laceration repair, incision & drainage, splinting).
- Rapidly interpret diagnostic results and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
- Provide patient and family education, including discharge instructions.
- Ability to manage high-acuity and undifferentiated clinical environments.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced setting.
- Graduate of nationally accredited Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) Program
- NPs should hold Acute Care or Emergency Medicine certifications
- Ability to obtain PA/NP licensure in Missouri
