Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Sous Chef located in Chestnut Hill, PA. The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef and The Chef De Cuisine in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring culinary excellence, maintaining health and safety standards, and managing kitchen staff. Responsibilities include menu planning, food preparation, inventory and stock management, and ensuring consistent food quality and presentation. The Sous Chef will also play a key role in training and mentoring staff to cultivate a positive working environment.
Qualifications
- Strong culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating
- Experience with menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen organization
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost control
- Leadership, team management, and staff training ability
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment
- Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Formal culinary training or equivalent professional experience
- Proficiency in various cuisines is a plus
