SummaryPosition performs repairs and services necessary to maintain the physical premises of Agency property in a serviceable and comfortable condition. Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Regularly inspect the facilities and prioritize list of projects.2. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, work to best plan and implement the use of labor at the different Agency locations (Team Projects, Blitzes).3. Carry out continuous preventive maintenance.4. Keep workshop, tools, and storage areas clean and orderly.5. Train and supervise residents as a therapeutic intervention.6. Maintain a high quality of facilities ensuring that residents and participants are treated with dignity and respect at all times.7. Be available for facility emergencies with the ability to provide guidance and direction to staff.8. Role model appropriate healthy and ethical behaviors in all interactions, including HIPAA and Confidentiality standards.9. Attend program staff meetings as required, agency meetings as mandated, and on-site and off-site trainings as directed.10. Assist in ensuring a safe and alcohol/drug-free environment.11. Perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Credential, Education, and Experience1. Must have experience and training in maintenance or building trades.2. High School diploma or GED. Language and Communication Skills1. Empathy for the residents and participants in the Agency’s program.2. Ability to work courteously with people.3. Ability to work cooperatively with management and with minimum supervision.4. Ability to assess maintenance needs and choose appropriate corrective action. Other Requirements1. Current CPR and First Aid Certifications.2. A valid government-issued picture ID.3. If employee uses his/her personal vehicle to commute to work and/or parks on Agency property, a current California driver’s license is required.a. If employee has an out-of-state driver’s license, he/she must attain a valid California license no later than 10 days from employment start date.b. Must maintain current liability insurance coverage on personal vehicle.c. On occasion, employee may be asked to use their personal vehicle to transport participants/residents to offsite appointments. Standard mileage rate will be reimbursed as applicable.4. If employee uses an Agency-owned vehicle to transport residents/participants to offsite appointments, a current California driver’s license is required.a.
