Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Math Educator located in the Washington DC-Baltimore area. The Math Educator will develop and implement engaging lesson plans to teach core and advanced mathematical concepts. Responsibilities include assessing student progress, providing differentiated instruction, and fostering a collaborative learning environment. The role also involves contributing to interdisciplinary projects and integrating social justice principles into the curriculum to enhance student understanding and critical thinking.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in teaching core mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, and statistics
- Ability to create differentiated instructional plans tailored to diverse learning needs
- Skills in classroom management and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Experience in collaborative teaching or integrating interdisciplinary subjects
- Knowledge or interest in integrating social justice themes into mathematics education
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field; teaching certification or relevant licensure preferred
- Prior experience teaching middle school students in a classroom setting is a plus
