Job Overview

Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, assessing mental and physical condition, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals promptly.
- Support medication administration following HIPAA regulations and care plans developed by nursing or healthcare teams.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, including cooking and meal planning for residents with special dietary restrictions or medical conditions.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to sanitation protocols aligned with health standards.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote social interaction, cognitive engagement, and overall well-being.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement personalized care plans that meet each resident’s unique needs and preferences.
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, group homes, nursing homes, or home & community care environments.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including first aid, CPR certification, Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and autism support.
- Ability to perform patient observation accurately while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Strong caregiving skills with experience assisting with ADLs and providing patient monitoring in various settings.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting residents with mobility challenges using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and safety protocols in home health or long-term care contexts.
