At Soccer Shots, we have a ton of fun teaching soccer skills and character development to Pre-K & Elementary youth, providing a remarkable experience for our families and staff. We offer classes all around the Portland Metro area. Soccer Shots coaches and trainers must love working with kids and have an engaging personality with the ability to transport soccer gear to classes and reliable transportation.

We are Growing and need more Trainers!

We are actively looking for experienced coach trainers that want to join our team to learn how to coach the Soccer Shots way and provide remarkable experiences for our players and families. Soccer Shots Trainers are high quality and reliable coaches with strong leadership, communication and organization skills as well as mastery of Soccer Shots curriculum, classroom behavior management and solid timing and transitions.

The Job
  • Utilize expert-created Soccer Shots’ curriculum and early childhood development teaching techniques in every session.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. Follow all on-site safety and attendance protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and teachers.
  • Coach Soccer Shots classes with an apprentice coach, providing on field mentoring and direction.
  • Complete high quality classes with excellent evaluations scores
  • Follow training model/checklist for apprenticeship program, ensuring new coaches have the skills needed to become certified and thrive on the field
  • Attend all seasonal trainings and other events
  • Act as a role model and on-field mentor to all new and apprentice coaches 
  • Prompt, reliable, and professional written and verbal communication via slack acknowledging messages and encouraging others to engage

Qualifications:
  • Must be able and willing to coach on Saturday and/or Sunday
  • Sports/coaching/teaching experience required.
  • Training, mentoring or leadership experience required
  • Genuine passion for children and sports.
  • Energetic, engaging, responsible and safety conscious.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of kids ages 2-8.
  • High school diploma plus additional education and/or certification
  • Drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to stand, jog, and model children’s soccer skills.
  • Ability to pass state-required background checks.
