What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Research Attorney II - Employee Contract_ (Hybrid Schedule) - Los Angeles, position at SoCalGas?
- Conducts legal research on issues of procedural and substantive law in various areas of the law, including but not limited to personal injury, premises and products liability, environmental and employment law.
- Prepares briefs, pleadings, written discovery, correspondence, declarations, contracts and other legal documents.
- Interviews witnesses, and prepares witnesses to testify at deposition, hearings and/or trial officers, and public agencies under the guidance and supervision of an experienced attorney.
- Conducts depositions of experts, parties and witnesses.
- Makes appearances before judges, commissioners, hearing officers and public agencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
- Bachelor's Degree From a recognized college or university Required
- JD (Juris Doctor) Must have satisfactorily graduated from an ABA credited law school. Required
- 0 - 3 years Experience as an Attorney Required
- On-line research (Westlaw, Lexis) Advanced
- Writing Advanced
- Must have passed the California Bar exam. Required
