Summary:
The Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk is responsible for processing, tracking, and reconciling financial transactions related to vendor payments and customer accounts. This role ensures the accuracy of invoices, maintains proper accounting records, and supports compliance with established financial procedures and internal controls.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following; however, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
- Process accounts payable transactions, including vouchers, expense reports, fuel logs, and supporting documentation.
- Review invoices for accuracy, proper approval, and correct general ledger coding.
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and manual checks as needed.
- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain and update vendor files, including contact and payment information.
- Communicate with vendors to respond to inquiries and resolve payment issues.
- File, scan, and maintain accounts payable and general accounting records.
- Process incoming customer payments and apply them accurately to accounts.
- Research and resolve accounts receivable discrepancies.
- Generate and distribute customer statements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Compensation: $20.00 up to $22.00 per hour depending on experience.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should possess:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook; preferred).
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and AP/AR processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and high ethical standards.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to interact professionally with vendors, customers, and internal staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
