HPC Linux Systems Engineer needed for a full time opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Stennis, MS.
Active Top Secret clearance is required (TS/SCI preferred).
Work Schedule: On-site 5 days/week with required on-call and weekend support as part of a 24x7x365 environment

Monitor and maintain system health across HPC environments, including compute, network, and storage components.

Review, respond to, resolve, and close client support tickets while meeting SLA requirements.

Create, monitor, and close all support cases; maintain accurate documentation and reporting.

Produce and maintain availability and SLA reports for customer systems.
-
Plan, schedule, and execute monthly patching activities and semi-annual kernel upgrades.
-
Maintain and enforce system security posture in accordance with customer and compliance requirements.
-
Assist customers with application installations and system configuration support.
-
Troubleshoot, repair, and replace hardware components; track and document hardware repairs and part replacements.

Open, track, and close vendor hardware cases and manage return logistics for replaced components.

Participate in and maintain the on-call rotation to support 24x7x365 contracts.

Assist with new hardware and system installations, including rack, stack, and system bring-up.

Provide technical leadership and act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal teams.

Contribute to solution development, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Active Top Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).

CompTIA Security certification (required).

CompTIA Linux certification (required).

5 years of Linux System Administration experience in enterprise or HPC environments.
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
(OR 8 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of degree). -
Hands-on experience supporting High Performance Computing (HPC) systems.

Experience working in on-site, mission-critical environments with on-call responsibilities.
-
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including customer-facing interactions.
-
TS/SCI clearance.
-
Experience supporting government or classified environments.
-
Experience contributing to technical proposals or solution design efforts.
-
Vendor or industry certifications beyond Security and Linux .
-
Prior experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical initiatives.
Deep technical expertise across Linux, HPC architectures, networking, and storage technologies. -
Ability to design and implement solutions that enhance availability, performance, security, and maintainability.

Proven troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues to root cause.

Strong understanding of architectural dependencies within enterprise and HPC environments.
-
Experience contributing to the development and application of new tools and methodologies.
-
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, risks, and impacts to senior technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to operate in multi-technology environments and adapt consulting approaches to customer needs.

Experience supporting or contributing to technical demonstrations and smaller proposal efforts.
