Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to lead and oversee clinical services for a substance use treatment program offering ASAM Level 3.5 (Clinically Managed High-Intensity Residential Services) and Level 2.5 (Partial Hospitalization Services). This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care while maintaining full compliance with Virginia DBHDS regulations and ASAM criteria.
Duties include:
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to multidisciplinary treatment teams
- Ensure program adherence to ASAM criteria, DBHDS regulations, and all applicable licensing standards
- Oversee assessment, treatment planning, and service delivery to ensure individualized, trauma-informed care
- Monitor clinical outcomes, quality improvement initiatives, and utilization review processes
- Provide supervision for licensure (if applicable) and support staff development and training
- Collaborate with medical, administrative, and community stakeholders to enhance continuity of care
- Participate in program development, policy implementation, and strategic planning
Qualifications
- Active Virginia license in a behavioral health field (LPC, LCSW, or LSATP)
- Minimum of 3β5 years of clinical experience in substance use treatment
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
- Strong knowledge of ASAM criteria and Virginia DBHDS regulations
- Experience with co-occurring disorders and trauma-informed care
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
