Job Summary
We are seeking a positive, professional, dedicated & hardworking Food Preparation Team Member to join our team. This is not your ordinary food prep job. Our restaurant does not offer greasy foods. We offer healthy options such as acai smoothie bowls with freshly cut fruit that is prepared daily. You will also receive a portion of the tips as you are part of the team.

Fostering an environment where team members work together to quickly and efficiently create quality meals for our guests is our main goal. In this role, you will assist in the preparation of high-quality meals and ensure that all food handling and safety standards are met. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, contributing to the overall success of our food service operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Assist team members in getting out quality product to guests quickly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area as well as the cafe area ensuring all surfaces are sanitized.
- Follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure safe food handling practices.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, mixers, and ovens safely and efficiently.
- Help with plating and presentation of dishes as needed for catering or restaurant service.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report shortages to management.
Skills
- Capacity to follow instructions accurately and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work quickly and maintain a positive vibe under pressure
- Proficient in food handling techniques and understanding of food safety regulations.
- Experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong knife skills for efficient food preparation.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn new culinary skills.
- Willingness to do whatever tasks are needed when possible such as taking orders at the register, taking out the trash and cleaning the cafe and bathrooms.
