Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in construction or fire protection systems is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in sprinkler system estimating role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection codes, standards, and sprinkler system components.
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- NICET certification in fire protection or sprinkler system design.
- Experience working with project management software such as Procore or PlanGrid.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation skills and established relationships with suppliers and subcontractors in the fire protection industry.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to determine sprinkler system requirements.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify project scope and resolve any discrepancies in plans.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and documentation to support future projects and audits.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information for comprehensive estimates.
