JOB REQUIREMENTS: Soberalski Immigration Law is seeking a qualified
candidate to fill the full-time position of Paralegal at our West Allis
office. Job Summary: The Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing
legal and clerical support services, including case management, document
preparation and review, direct contact with clients, research,
investigations, fact-checking, and other duties as assigned. Starting
pay is \$23 per hour/commensurate with experience. Supervisory
Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Meets with attorneys,
clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
Manages and prioritizes high-volume caseload; Substantial direct client
interaction; Manages calendaring and ensures all case deadlines are met;
Drafts and edits immigration forms, client statements, and support
letters for USCIS and Consulate applications; Prepares supporting
documents and indexing and compiles evidence to be submitted with
petitions and applications; Navigates immigration bureaucratic
processes; Reviews legal and criminal records; Researches and analyzes
statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other
legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys; Interviews
clients and prepares summaries of their statements; Prepares, organizes,
stores, and retrieves case files and related documents in office filing
system and in electronic databases; Engages in professional and
respectful communication with clients, co-workers, and others in context
of paralegal role; Performs other case-specific or client-centered
duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and
written communication skills; Ability to read, write, and speak in
English and Spanish; Understanding of legal language and principles,
research methods, particularly that of USCIS and Consular processes, and
other related immigration matters; Excellent interpersonal and customer
service skills; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet
deadlines; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to
function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment;
Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good
judgment; Ability to learn, manage and complete casework within
immigration software; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related
software. Time-based Requirements: Meet immigration deadlines; Attend
monthly check-in meetings with attorneys; Attend other
organization-related meetings (staff meetings, paralegal meetings, etc.)
Communicate with newly assigned clients within two business days of
assignment; Communicate with all clients within paralegal\'s active
caseload at least once per month; Respond to client inquiries within 48
business hours. Education and Experience: Some related legal experience
preferred. Paralegal training, education and/or certification preferred.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working
