Position Summary
Under the supervision of Inventory Control Supervisor, verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment. Collectively maintain an accurate record of the items stored.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform warehouse duties and functions to support receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of Tribal assets.
- Receive product from vendors; effectively store product to maximize space while utilizing proper handling and safety techniques, including quality inspection of all incoming and outgoing inventory products.
- Ensure receiving software and spreadsheets are maintained with the most current data; ensure all transactions are properly documented, accurate, and completed.
- Count, weigh, or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
- Complete equipment inspection at the start of shift and report equipment defects in the vehicle log and to the supervisor.
- Conduct daily power equipment inspections to ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
- Operate all warehouse equipment and forklifts in accordance with safe operating procedures, including maintenance of an Industrial Truck Operator Permit (forklifts, power equipment), Tribal Driver`s License, and licensing as needed per fleet requirement.
- Deliver and move product from warehouse to site needed; pick up and prepare shipping orders to meet shipping cutoff times; properly stage and document outgoing product, as well as loading, driving, and unloading the product and getting the appropriate signature for goods and packages delivered.
- Return all customer-refused products, including restocking incorrect picks, notifying the supervisor on returned items, wasted items, and scheduling pickups of merchandise from various shipping and trucking companies.
- Ensure FIFO methodology is followed when performing all tasks on a daily basis.
- Perform physical inventories and assist in research, auditing, and data entry.
- Assist in the daily general maintenance and cleanup of all work areas and non-work areas.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

- Contact with vendors, purchasing team members, and others as necessary to ensure that packages are securely delivered in a fast and efficient manner or to investigate problems with any shipment.
- Contact with the Inventory Control Supervisor and Inventory Controller for the daily and overall direction, all other SELC, SECR, and SCIT team members as necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with operating warehouse equipment including forklifts and riding cleaning machines.
- Experience on stand-up or sit-down forklift or be able to be certified prior to 90-day probationary period is completed.
- Must have good communication skills, good computer skills with Microsoft Office, and the ability to handle tasks in a busy environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
- One year receiving or warehouse experience working with warehouse equipment.
- Must obtain Fork Lift certification within ninety (90) days of hire/transfer.
- Must have a valid State of Michigan Driver`s License, with the proper designation required for the vehicle utilized to perform the job duties, and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier. A Tribal Driver`s License will also be required if a Motor Pool Vehicle is used in the course and scope of the required job duties.
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.

- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
- Knowledge of computerized information systems.
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, and

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment.
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time, bend, and reach with arms and hands.
- Work under high volume and stressful situations.
- Required to climb up and down ladders.
- Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
- Normal warehouse environment.
- Continuous work in, around, and with powered warehouse equipment including Reach Trucks, Powered Pallet jacks, Manual Pallet Jacks, Sit Down Fork Lift, Floor Scrubber, and Box truck.
- Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino, and constant machine and crowd noise.
- Possible exposure to various chemicals.
- Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
