Key Responsibilities & Duties
As a Janitor, you'll help create a clean and professional environment by performing routine facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks. Your daily responsibilities will include cleaning offices, hallways, stairwells, restrooms, and other common areas through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
You'll empty trash receptacles, replace liners, restock restroom supplies, and clean surfaces such as sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, and glass. You'll also work closely with your supervisor by reporting equipment issues, supply needs, safety concerns, and any facility-related challenges that could impact daily operations.
Occasionally, you may assist with additional tasks or support team members to help ensure all facility needs are met.
Requirements and Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have:
- Good oral and written communication skills for positive and clear interactions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to do repetitious bending at the waist and kneeling.
Education and Experience
- Completion of high school or GED preferred but not required.
- Janitorial experience or experience in cleaning and maintaining assigned facilities/buildings in a manner that meets job expectations.
Hours and Schedule
This is a part-time, on-site position working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. While overtime is not expected, occasional schedule adjustments may be necessary due to weather-related closures, delays, or early dismissals.
