What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3D Artist position at Soar Technology?
Accelint is a mission-driven technology company focused on strengthening national security and supporting critical industries. We build the technologies that help operators and organizations see what’s happening, make faster and better decisions, take action with confidence, and stay ready for what comes next. Our work includes advanced sensors, autonomous systems, mission command and control software, AI-enabled training and simulation, and tools that improve logistics, maintenance, and overall readiness.
For nearly 30 years we have supported military and civilian agencies across the Department of Defense, U.S. allies and partners, and essential industries. When you join Accelint, your work directly contributes to protecting national security and strengthening the systems our society depends on.
Accelint brings together the talents of Hypergiant, Forward Slope, Systems Innovation Engineering, SoarTech, and Highbury Defense Group under one mission, with each entity contributing deep expertise in its domain. This role is part of our SoarTech division, which focuses on data and AI, autonomy software, and advanced simulation and training systems. SoarTech has decades of experience in AI research, including major DARPA autonomy programs, and develops explainable, adaptive technologies that enhance human judgment and accelerate mission readiness.
As a 3D Artist, you will support the design and production of immersive Navy training solutions, including Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), simulations, and 3D training assets. You will collaborate daily with Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs), Software Engineers, Tech Leads, and other creative team members to design, model, texture, animate, test, and integrate high-quality 3D assets into training applications developed in Unity or similar environments.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Our 3D Artists contribute to the entire asset pipeline—from concept and modeling to optimization and integration—and regularly validate their work with Creative Leadership and project stakeholders. You will help shape the visual fidelity of Navy training products and ensure that all 3D elements support learning objectives, technical accuracy, and usability.
Our ideal candidate regularly workshares their efforts with the Creative Director and Creative Operations team to maintain consistent style, quality, and performance across all products. You should be comfortable with critique, iterative design, and applying established brand, style, and performance standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality 3D models, textures, and materials for use in Navy training systems and simulations.
- Produce optimized, game-ready assets for Unity or similar real-time engines.
- Develop animations such as mechanical movements, character actions, or object interactions that support instructional effectiveness.
- Collaborate with ISDs to ensure 3D assets accurately represent technical systems, equipment, procedures, and Navy operational environments.
- Work closely with Software Engineers to support smooth integration and ensure assets meet performance, scale, and quality requirements.
- Participate in design reviews with the Creative Director and Creative Operations team to maintain cohesive visual style and product consistency.
- Troubleshoot issues related to rendering, asset performance, and real-time optimization.
- Apply design thinking, problem-solving, and creative iteration to address ambiguous or evolving technical requirements.
- Support testing, debugging, and refinement as 3D elements are implemented into training products.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
