Seeking a detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper to join our team.
MUST have Union experience - paying Union fees and benefits.
Construction experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts and experience in maintaining accurate financial records. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes, including bank reconciliations, payroll management, and budgeting. The Bookkeeper will work closely with management to provide insights into the financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial statements.
- Manage payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions using accounting software.
- Prepare and analyze budgets, providing reports on variances and recommendations for improvements.
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Familiarity with payroll processes and governmental accounting regulations is preferred.
- Strong skills in bank reconciliation, budgeting, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- A degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus but not required; relevant certifications are also advantageous.
