About the Role
Operate and maintain die-cutting equipment to meet Snyder’s quality and safety benchmarks. You’ll interpret layouts and specs, set up machines for production, verify quality through scheduled pulls, and keep accurate records.
Primary Responsibilities
- Make-ready & Production (80%) — Set up and run Bobst platen and Heidelberg cylinder die-cutting presses. Adjust equipment, troubleshoot run issues, and ensure product meets Snyder packaging standards.
- Stripping Tooling Setup (10%) — Configure stripping tooling using a pin setting table.
- Administrative Tasks (5%) — Perform basic computer data entry and complete required forms.
- Care & Upkeep (5%) — Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance.
Quality Control
- Inspect the quality of each load by checking predetermined run pulls.
- Identify defects quickly and correct root causes.
Qualifications
- Experience operating die-cutting machinery.
- Basic shop math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
- Intermediate English communication: read, write, listen, and speak.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, typing, and printing.
- Comfort with measurements; able to read a ruler accurately.

- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving.
- Attention to detail; ability to notice product defects.
- Working knowledge of printing, die cutting, and gluing processes.
- Excellent communication skills.
Physical Effort & Environment
- Manual loading and lifting; climbing involved in normal operation.
- Active role with repetitive and varied tasks; requires strength and good eyesight.
- Operate semi-automatic equipment safely.
- Work in a general warehouse setting within a paperboard packaging facility.
- Frequent reaching, bending, lifting; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain machine operating and maintenance records.
- Submit maintenance requests as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor and plant manager.
- Adhere to Snyder’s safety and quality standards at all times.
