Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes early childhood development, literacy, social skills, and physical activity.
- Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence among toddlers.
- Manage daily classroom routines including circle time, play-based learning activities, nap schedules, and meal times.
- Use effective behavior management strategies to guide positive social interactions and support emotional regulation.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child development assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons that incorporate early intervention techniques and support children with special needs or additional learning requirements.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and preschool teaching methods.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques that foster a positive learning environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to promote transparency and trust.
- Familiarity with child welfare standards, first aid and CPR certification, and health & safety regulations.
- Experience integrating literacy education, math concepts, physical education, and standardized testing into daily activities.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
