About the Role
Snyder Engineering, Inc. is a trusted steel fabricator specializing in structural and miscellaneous steel—stairs, handrails, balconies, ladders, mezzanines, gates, and custom fabricated components. We are looking for a highly organized, proactive Production Coordinator / Production Assistant to support our Production Manager and serve as a key link between the office and the shop floor.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys problem‑solving, and wants growth opportunities. You’ll help keep jobs moving, verify information, track progress, and ensure communication flows smoothly between production leadership and management.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a liaison between the Production Manager and shop foremen/supervisors to confirm plans, priorities, and job requirements
- Monitor job status throughout fabrication and communicate updates to the Production Manager
- Track piece counts for fabricated steel components as they move through production
- Verify completed and primed pieces staged in the yard for loading at the paint shop
- Maintain accurate records of completed product, staging locations, and load readiness
- Assist with scheduling, sequencing, and coordinating work based on deadlines and shop capacity
- Support daily production meetings with updated job status, counts, and bottleneck identification
- Help ensure drawings, revisions, and instructions are correctly relayed to the shop
- Identify issues early and escalate concerns to the Production Manager
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Provide general administrative and coordination support to the production team as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or shop environment preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly with shop personnel, supervisors, and management
- Comfortable working in a shop and yard environment around steel, equipment, and moving loads
- Basic understanding of steel fabrication processes is a plus (or willingness to learn)
- Ability to multitask and stay ahead of changing priorities
- Dependable, proactive, and eager to grow into a larger coordination role
- Comfortable using basic computer tools for tracking, reporting, and documentation
