Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as pavers, loaders, excavators, and dump trucks to lay asphalt and prepare surfaces for paving.
- Assist with asphalt raking, spreading, and leveling to ensure smooth, even surfaces according to project specifications.
- Manage concrete mixers and concrete pumping equipment when needed for related construction tasks.
- Maintain safety protocols by conducting inspections of machinery and work zones, ensuring all equipment operates correctly.
- Collaborate with team members on site to coordinate paving activities, including material delivery and placement.
- Perform routine maintenance on construction equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Experience
- Prior experience operating heavy construction equipment such as pavers, loaders, excavators, rollers, or dump trucks is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of paving techniques, asphalt placement, and concrete finishing processes
- Mechanical knowledge related to maintaining and troubleshooting heavy machinery used in paving operations.
- Valid commercial vehicle or commercial driving license is a plus for operating large trucks or transporting materials on-site.
