Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade Ability: Drive a school bus and other transportation equipment safely and efficiently, exercising sound judgment and extreme caution; maintain proper and positive control of student behavior on a school bus; keep records and prepare reports; understand and follow oral and written directions; be courteous, neat and clean at all times. Knowledge: Safe driving and defensive driving practices and techniques; California Motor Vehicle Code and Education Code applicable to the operation of school buses and pupil transportation; effective communication skills; pupil management skills. REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS: MUST BE A CURRENT CALIFORNIA STATE CERTIFIED SCHOOL BUS DRIVER OR MUST HAVE COMPLETED THE CALIFORNIA SCHOOL BUS DRIVER’S TRAINING PROGRAM ** If you are not a current California State Certified School Bus Driver, please email salli_terrones@snowlineschools.com to inquire about taking the next School Bus Driver Original Training Program. Include your contact information; full name, phone number, and email address. MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING CURRENT CREDENTIALS AND ATTACH ALL CREDENTIALS TO YOUR APPLICATION: ** California Commercial Driver License – Class A or Class B (with P and S endorsements) ** California Special Driver Certificate – Valid for School Bus Operation. Must not have Restrictions 2, 3, 4, and 5. If Restriction 6 is indicated, one must attach First Aid/CPR card from an approved provider list. ** Medical Examiners Certificate – DOT Physical ** Driver Record (K4) DMV ** First Aid/CPR Certificate
Application to include a letter of intent, a current resume and 2 letters of reference (physically signed and dated within the past 3 years). Must have a current DL-51 medical certificate, possess a California Special Drivers Certificate.
