Duties
- Carefully cut, peel, dice, and portion a variety of fresh fruits according to established standards and recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all cutting tools, workstations, and storage areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist in preparing fruit displays for catering events, buffets, or menu items
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and dietary aides to support meal preparation and presentation needs
- Monitor inventory levels of fruits and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishing
- Adhere to all safety guidelines during knife handling and food preparation activities
Skills
- Proven experience in food handling, kitchen work, or culinary roles, preferably within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Strong knife skills with the ability to efficiently cut, peel, and prepare fruits with precision
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards in a commercial setting
