TITLE: Festival Greeter
LOCATION: Oktoberfest
STATUS: Part-time, Seasonal
SCHEDULE: 10 am to 7 pm
- $16.50 an hour
- If you work 18 of the 21 days of Oktoberfest (August 12 - October 15) you will be eligible to choose either a Snowbird Season Ski Pass for the 2023-2024 ski season or a $1000 bonus.
- Shifts: Saturdays & Sundays, August 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 & 27, September 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, & 30 October 1, 7, 8, 14 & 15 (August 12th – October 15th) Plus Labor Day - Monday, September 4th, 2023
- Mandatory Days: August 5th or 6th for orientation/training, September 2nd, 3rd, and 4th (Labor Day weekend) and October 15th for Oktoberfest tear down.
SUMMARY
As an Oktoberfest Festival Greeter, under the direction of The Special Events Management Team you will provide a positive experience to Snowbird guests and co-workers during Oktoberfest. You will greet and welcome all guests entering the Oktoberfest Festival. In addition, you will set up and tear down the event as directed.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Perform event security at venue entrances and exits which includes monitoring of metal detectors and guest bag searches.
- Ensure guests are not entering or leaving entry points with alcoholic beverages to comply with DABC regulations.
- Ensure guests are not entering the festival with outside food or beverage.
- Greet all guests entering Snowbird event professionally and politely with a smile.
- Give exceptional service to guests by answering all questions regarding the resort and area.
- Take fast and appropriate action to solve problems, handles guest concerns in a professional manner.
- Willingness to complete any assigned jobs and work any assigned station in order to ensure events are successful
- Assist with set up and tear down of event as directed.
- Reports to work on-time and in proper uniform.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 6 months job related experience preferred but not required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Food handlers Permit and Alcohol certification – Required by training date. What is the date?
- Ability to follow directions, must be able to comfortably communicate in English, ability to work in either a team or individually without constant supervision.
- Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Specific Shift: 11:00am –7:00pm, Saturdays and Sundays. Exact times vary daily but shift will fall within these hours.
- August 5th or 6th for orientation/training
- From August 12th - October 15th and Labor Day weekend, September 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 2023
- Sunday, October 15th for Festival tear down
UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
- Solid black pants (must fit waist, no jeans or baggy pants), comfortable shoes, closed toe and no bright colors, black socks.
- We will provide one uniform shirt, apron, hat and name tag that must be worn everyday once you are clocked in.
- Weather varies greatly from day to day so always be prepared with jacket, hat and gloves.
- Events will never be canceled for bad weather, but we may send people home.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Stress associated with high volume sales, heavy crowds, and high noise levels due to live entertainment.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Must be able to carry trays and other items needed for service.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions.
- Outside environment in a mountain setting: weather will range from hot and sunny to cold and wet, possibly changing conditions drastically throughout the day. Walking through heavy crowds, up and down stairs, up and down hills.
