Cashier Job Description
Position: Cashier / Front Counter / Drive-Thru
Brand: Carl’s Jr. – Snow Star LP
Reports To: Shift Lead / Assistant Manager / General Manager
Position Summary
The Cashier is responsible for delivering fast, friendly, and accurate service to every guest. This role plays a key part in achieving the 5 Points to Happy by ensuring excellent guest service, order accuracy, and speed of service in both front counter and drive-thru operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Service
- Greet every guest within 5 seconds with a friendly and positive attitude
- Take orders accurately and repeat back for confirmation
- Upsell promotions (LTOs, combos, add-ons like cookies, drinks, or upgrades)
- Thank every guest and invite them to return
Drive-Thru Excellence
- Follow Carl’s Jr. scripting at speaker and window:
- Greet promptly and clearly
- Suggestive sell (LTO, combo, upgrades)
- Confirm order and provide total
- Promote Rewards App (scan or QR code)
- Maintain urgency and meet Speed of Service (SOS) goals
Order Accuracy & Cash Handling
- Accurately enter orders into POS system
- Handle cash, credit cards, and mobile payments correctly
- Return correct change and receipts
- Follow all cash control and security policies
Food & Presentation Standards
- Ensure all orders are complete before handing to guest:
- Napkins included
- Fries hot and properly salted
- Bags clean, folded, and presentable
- Communicate clearly with kitchen team for order accuracy
Cleanliness & Organization
- Keep front counter, lobby, and drink station clean and stocked
- Maintain clean and organized work area at all times
- Follow “Sparkling Clean” standards throughout shift
Teamwork
- Work with urgency and support team members during rush periods
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and leadership
- Follow direction from Shift Leads and Managers
Qualifications
- Must be at least 15 years old
- Previous customer service experience preferred (not required)
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, reaching, and movement
Uniform & Appearance
- Full Carl’s Jr. uniform required:
- Approved shirt/hat or visor
- Black slacks (no jeans or leggings)
- Non-slip shoes
- Name tag
- Maintain clean and professional appearance at all times
Performance Expectations
- Follow 100% scripting compliance (Front Counter & Drive-Thru)
- Meet or exceed Speed of Service (SOS) targets
- Support store goals for 5 Points of Happy
- Complete all required training on time
Work Environment
- Fast-paced quick service restaurant
- Indoor and drive-thru service areas
- Exposure to kitchen equipment and moderate noise levels (15 year olds only Front of House)
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
