We work closely with residents, community partners, and state and federal agencies to promote housing stability and ensure long-term compliance across our housing programs.
Position Summary:
The Recertification Specialist is responsible for managing initial, annual, and interim recertifications for affordable housing programs including USDA Rural Development, HUD Section 8, and NYS Homes and Community Renewal (HCR). This position is based in the Lowville office with required on-site work at properties across Lewis County.
Successful Candidates Will Bring:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Prior affordable housing recertification experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with USDA RD and HUD Section 8 programs preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; OneSite experience a plus
- Ability to travel between properties with a valid driver’s license
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct income certifications and recertifications
- Verify income, assets, and household eligibility
- Maintain audit-ready resident files
- Track compliance deadlines
- Communicate with residents regarding eligibility requirements and submission dates
- Support audits and agency monitoring visits
Salary & Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $21.00 to $22.50, depending on experience
