JOB TITLE: Steward
POSITION SUMMARY: The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the kitchen and service areas. This role ensures that all dishes, utensils, equipment, and workspaces meet health and safety standards. The Steward plays a critical support role in overall kitchen operations, enabling the team to deliver a safe and efficient dining experience.
Essential Functions
Cleaning & Sanitation
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Licensure: Food handler’s permit
Preferred Experience: Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a background check and drug screen

Essential Functions
Cleaning & Sanitation
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and work surfaces
- Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and sanitation procedures
- Remove trash and recycling, maintaining clean and safe disposal areas
- Assist with stocking and organizing clean dishes and equipment
- Support kitchen staff with basic prep or tasks as needed
- Ensure adequate supply of clean items during service periods
- Help maintain overall kitchen organization and efficiency
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
- Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines
- Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and integrity in completing responsibilities
- Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for team members and guests
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization
- Works efficiently with attention to detail
- Suggests improvements to cleaning processes and workflow efficiency
- Adapts to new equipment, procedures, and best practices
