PURPOSE

The Executive Steward at Snoqualmie Casino & Hotel plays a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen and dining areas are immaculate, thereby enhancing the overall guest experience. This position leads the stewarding team, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety while supporting the culinary team in delivering exceptional service. The Executive Steward ensures our guests enjoy a clean and inviting environment that reflects the pride and values of Snoqualmie Casino & Hotel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the stewarding department, ensuring that cleanliness and sanitation standards are not only met but exceeded. Develop and implement standard operating procedures to maintain order and efficiency in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Team Leadership: Lead by example, recruiting, training, and supervising stewarding team to foster a positive and productive work environment. Schedule shifts and manage time-off requests to ensure adequate coverage and conduct regular performance evaluations to support team growth and development.
  • Inventory and Supplies: Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, kitchen tools, and equipment, including silverware, plate ware, and glassware for all of the various outlets. Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and replenishment of necessary items, maintaining optimal stock levels to support seamless operations.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards, keeping our team and guests safe and secure.
  • Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the stewarding department budget. Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety, contributing to the financial health of the casino.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary team to understand and support their needs, providing daily maintenance cleaning and weekly deep cleaning of all kitchen areas to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Coordinate with other departments to create a seamless and exceptional guest experience, demonstrating our commitment to teamwork and excellence.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Five (5) years of experience in a stewarding role.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory or managerial experience. 
  • Experience in a high-volume hospitality environment, such as hotels, resorts or large-scale catering operations.

  • Sanitation & Hygiene Compliance: Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene regulations.

  • Performance Under Pressure: Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.

Snoqualmie Casino exercises Snoqualmie Tribal Member/Native American preference in hiring, in compliance with the Snoqualmie Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). You must obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Snoqualmie Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions. The use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant for positions in any department other than Transportation (Valet, Driver I). DOT panel testing is required for the Driver position.
