    Job Summary: Under the direction of the qualified supervising teacher and/or Building Administrator, is responsible for applying specialized skills supporting the elementary and secondary educational process. Specific responsibilities for this position are as described on the attached job description.

    Special Duties: Ensure students have access to their academic and social environment. ASL translation preferred.

    Salary Range: $41.59 - $46.14 per hour for Sign Language Interpreter per 2025-26 Public School Employees Salary Schedule
    Above pay rates do not include holiday and pay in lieu of vacation, which increases the hourly compensation.

    Work Schedule:
    • Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
    • Paid Hours: 6 hours per day
    • Lunch Break: 30-minutes unpaid break
    • Calendar: 9 months/year; enjoy time office during spring break, winter break and summer, plus 10 paid holidays.

    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Sign language and interpreter proficiency.
    • The Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a minimum score of 4.0 and the EIPA written test with a passing score; OR The National Interpreter Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the EIPA written test with a passing score.
    • Blood Borne Pathogen Training, provided at time of hire.
    • Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description for this position.
