Job Summary: Under the direction of the Transportation Director, is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school. Specific responsibilities for this position are as described in the attached job description.
Hours: Bus drivers typically begin as a substitute for regular drivers. Bus driver candidates must complete a Driver Training program prior to beginning as a substitute driver. Daily hours and routes may vary. Work is performed Monday thru Friday, split shifts, 4-6 hours/day.
Pay Rate: $32.57 to $36.66/hour per PSE 2025-2026 Salary Schedule
Above pay rates do not include holiday and pay in lieu of vacation, which increases the hourly compensation.
Benefits: For eligible positions, the district offers a competitive benefits package including Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB), a Washington state retirement package, and paid time off. Generally, you are eligible for SEBB benefits if you are anticipated to work at least 630 hours per school year (September 1 through August 31). - $20.00/hour during the Driver Training period
- $32.57/hour Substitute Bus Driver
- $500 one-time bonus upon successful completion of training and 60 work days of driving for the district
- Valid Washington State driver's license.
- Have at least five years of experience as a licensed driver of a passenger vehicle.
- Clean driving record (e.g., offenses committed within the last 5 years which would be grounds for disqualification include but are not limited to: suspended license, 3 or more speeding tickets, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving. (WAC 392-144-101)
- Pass a criminal background/fingerprint check.
- Willing to obtain a Commercial Driver's License - all necessary training will be provided by the School District.
- Submit to random drug tests after hire.
- Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description for this position.
