Retail Store Associate

Snohomish General Store is looking for a friendly, dependable, and energetic part-time Retail Associate to join our team. We are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys retail, connecting with people, and creating a welcoming experience for every customer who visits the store.

This position will typically include 3–4 shifts per week, with shifts generally lasting 6.5–8 hours, although some flexibility is required as hours may vary. You will often be the only employee working in the store, so you must be comfortable and confident working independently.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service
• Help customers find products and make thoughtful recommendations
• Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process transactions
• Keep the sales floor, displays, checkout area, and back room clean and organized
• Receive, unpack, price, and move incoming inventory
• Complete opening and closing duties independently
• Learn about our products, local makers, and the Snohomish community
• Help create the warm, engaging atmosphere that makes the store feel special

Qualifications

• Retail, customer service, or sales experience is preferred
• Friendly, confident, and comfortable starting conversations with customers
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Able to stay organized and keep up in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented and willing to take initiative when something needs to be done
• Comfortable standing and moving throughout the entire shift
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds
• Available to work approximately 18–28 hours per week, including some weekends

Nice to Have

These skills are not required, but may be helpful. Please let us know if you have experience with:

• Social media content creation or advertising
• Shopify website management
• Photographing products and displays for social media or a website

Schedule & Hours

Shifts will vary throughout the week and may include weekends. Each shift will be between 6.5 - 8 hours and within the hours of 9:45a - 6:30p most days. The store is currently open Sunday - Friday from 11a - 5p and Saturdays until 6p. Some holidays may be included. Hours will vary between 18-30 hours per week.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
