Position Summary

As part of a collaborative Finance team, the Staff Accountant performs essential daily accounting tasks to ensure transparency, efficiency, and accountability across financial transactions. This position provides vital support in managing financial activities for 26 Club locations, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to balance a dynamic workload. The ideal candidate is mission-driven, detail-oriented, and committed to the financial integrity of a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth throughout Snohomish County.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger.
• Manage accounts receivable, accruals, and payment applications.
• Assist with month end and year end closures.
• Assist with reconciliations.
• Perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.
• Assist finance department with multiple tasks and functions required to manage all locations. Manage various workload volumes is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in accounting required, bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with general staff accounting.
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• High degree of attention to details and multi-tasking.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ownership and pride in work product.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as high attention to detail
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to spot numerical errors
• Experience with accounting software (e.g. MIP Abila)
• Typing, data entry skills
• Organization skills
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
• Ability to multitask in fast paced environment, and manage various workload volumes
