Senior Product Designer

Sniffies is a fast-growing, location-based GBTQ app that connects people in real time. We're building a community rooted in openness, authenticity, and self-expression, and a culture that values autonomy and trust, for our users and our team alike. We move quickly, we're small, and we build technology that sits at the intersection of culture, identity, and connection.

About the role

As Senior Product Designer, you'll own complex product areas end-to-end across web, iOS, and Android, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Research to ship thoughtful, high-quality work.

This role is for a designer who balances strong craft with sharp product thinking: someone who can zoom out to understand user needs and business goals, then zoom in to sweat the interaction details, all while bringing perspective to how people connect.

What You'll Do Design & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end design for features and initiatives across Web, iOS, and Android, from concept through production.
  • Translate product requirements, user needs, and constraints into clear, intuitive experiences.
  • Produce high-quality flows, wireframes, visual designs, and prototypes ready for development, then work closely with engineers so designs ship with fidelity and care.

Product Partnership

  • Partner with Product Managers to shape problem definitions, explore solutions, and iterate toward impact.
  • Bring user-centered perspectives and design insights to roadmap discussions, and communicate design decisions clearly to cross-functional partners and stakeholders.
  • Share ownership comfortably: pick up where another designer left off, contribute meaningfully, and hand off your own work without needing to control its direction.

Systems & Craft

  • Design scalable, adaptable components for a shared design system, making architectural decisions before every downstream use case is known.
  • Help maintain consistency, accessibility, and quality across the product.
  • Model strong design craft in critiques and reviews, giving and receiving thoughtful feedback, and help sustain a collaborative, feedback-driven design culture.

Research & Exploration

  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative insights to inform design decisions, and collaborate on user research and usability testing that turns findings into actionable improvements.
  • Incorporate community feedback to balance inclusivity, safety, engagement, and performance.
  • Explore emerging interaction patterns, motion, and UX best practices, experimenting thoughtfully while staying focused on real user value.

What You'll Bring

  • 6–8 years of product design experience, with ownership of complex features or product areas.
  • Strong end-to-end design skills, from concept through production, demonstrated through a strong portfolio of visual, interaction, and systems thinking.
  • Proficiency in Figma.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams.
  • Comfort presenting work to and incorporating direction from executive leadership, including in founder-led organizations.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with prototyping and motion tools.

Why this role

You'd be joining a small team where design decisions shape how millions of moments of connection happen. You'll have real ownership over complex product areas, a direct hand in evolving our design direction and systems, and the chance to bring creativity and cultural awareness to how discovery, connection, and safety are experienced. The impact of your craft is felt by every user, every day.

We're an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants of every background, identity, and experience. If this role excites you but you don't tick every box, we'd still love to hear from you.
