Role Description The Industrial Press Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Chattanooga, TN. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining industrial presses and related equipment used in tire retreading and industrial tire service operations. Day-to-day tasks include performing setup and adjustments on press machinery, monitoring production for safety and quality, and completing routine and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. The technician will troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues, follow standardized work instructions, and adhere to safety and environmental guidelines. The role also involves collaborating with maintenance and production teams, documenting work performed, and supporting continuous improvement in equipment reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong equipment maintenance skills, including industrial press operation and general Maintenance.
- Experience in Industrial Maintenance, with emphasis on safe use and care of heavy machinery.
- Knowledge of basic Electricity concepts as they apply to troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance tasks to ensure reliable and efficient operation of machinery.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or tire retread environment is beneficial.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe material handling practices.
- Ability to read and follow technical manuals, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial or mechanical fields is a plus.
- Physical ability to stand, lift, and work in an industrial setting for extended periods while following safety protocols.
