What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Specialist I position at SNC?
Responsibilities:
- Managing life safety equipment to include inspections.
- Ergonomic Assessments
- Assist in EH&S Audits
- Function as an EH&S business partner to assigned locations
- Addressing safety concerns and implementing corrective actions
- Assist with implementation of EH&S Programs
- Assist with EH&S training
- Assist with employee knowledge surveys
- Assist with injury/incident investigations
- Promote a positive proactive safety culture
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field of study and typically 0 - 2 or more years safety experience in aerospace, military, aviation, or general industry
- Years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement
- Knowledgeable with a variety of occupational health & safety standards, EPA, OSHA, and NFPA regulations
- Demonstrated ability to conduct a job hazard analysis, site audits, and incident root cause analysis
- Fluency with data capture, data analytics, spreadsheets, and presentation
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with DCMA INST 8210
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Construction Industry Safety Knowledge
- Certifications, including Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST)
