JOB SUMMARY
SNBL Global Gateway (SGG) promotes the development of new businesses and product commercialization through the cultivation and support of innovative technologies. SGG provides multifaceted support—including technical assistance, funding, business development, and network building—for entrepreneurs and researchers including startups, and university-origin ventures, thereby accelerating their growth.
This position will play a key role in driving this mission through business development/sales, account/relationship management and operational support. This is an on-site position at SNBL USA’s Everett, WA location with occasional short-term business trips required. May involve some evening and weekend work. 75-100% FTE (TO BE DETERMINED)
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Will perform a wide variety of business development/sales, account/relationship management and operational support duties.
· Attend community and other marketing events held at SGG and other locations. Will represent SGG’s interests at events with and without their manager present.
· Follow up with and manage relationships with potential SGG members/Tenants/Sponsors for the SGG program.
· Create a list of potential SGG members/Tenants/Sponsors and report monthly to manager. Engage in activities that result in growing the SGG program.
· Provide administrative support and coordination to corporate executives and staff from parent company in Japan, SGG staff and visitors from affiliated and investment portfolio companies.
· Manage calendars including scheduling appointments, meetings, and conferences.
· Provide meeting support and coordination including agendas, materials, minutes (if needed) and follow up as necessary.
· Prepare and edit correspondence, reports and presentations.
· Plan and organize critical and highly visible events.
· Greet visitors. Host guests from Japan, the US and other countries.
· Coordinate conference room schedules as needed.
· Develop and maintain professional relationships and establish credibility with colleagues at Japan headquarters and in the U.S.
· Proactively look for and recommend ways to increase program participation, streamline processes and gain efficiencies.
· Handle confidential information with discretion.
· Proactively takes on projects and other duties as assigned, to add value and create efficiencies in the day-to-day operations of SGG operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred, but not required
· 2 years or more of business development, sales and account/relationship management experience is strongly desired
· Solid project management skills required
· Ability to read, speak and understand Japanese fluently in a professional business environment is required
· Deep understanding of Japanese and U.S. business customs, norms and practices required
· Prior experience living in Japan is highly desirable
· Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Strong organizational skills
· Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
· Proactive problem-solving abilities
Equivalent education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
SALARY RANGE: $65,000 – 100,000 (Full-Time Annual Salary)
