Position Overview:
Snake River Angler is seeking a few enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and customer-focused Fly Shop Retail Professionals to join our team in Jackson, Wyoming. This role is ideal for someone passionate about fly fishing, the outdoors, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You’ll assist anglers of all skill levels, provide expert gear recommendations, and help create a welcoming, community-driven shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers with gear selection, fly recommendations, and local fishing advice
- Provide up-to-date knowledge on local rivers, hatches, conditions, and regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail space
- Operate point-of-sale system and handle transactions accurately
- Assist with inventory management, restocking, and merchandising displays
- Support guided trip bookings and answer customer inquiries via phone and email
- Promote a positive and inclusive shop atmosphere
- Represent the shop professionally within the local fishing community
Qualifications:
- Strong passion for fly fishing and outdoor recreation
- Knowledge of fly fishing technics and locations
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Fly tying skills are a bonus
- Experience rowing a drift boat or guiding is a plus (not required)
- Please note that at this time we are looking for individuals with full season availability (May thru October). While we do have some flexibility on timing, individuals who can only work June, July, and August will not be considered.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 40 lbs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
